I was so pumped after Destiny on Friday I could hardly get my words out to Laurence on the phone to tell him what happened. I get so excited every time the living, breathing Jesus shows up by his Spirit when we meet together. But Friday truly felt like we went to another level as a group in our desire for him and surrenderedness to him (shut up spellcheck with your judgmental red underlining!!).
To recap a bit of what Martin preached:
I'd like to think he does. In my head, he organises celestial five-a-sides at weekends. In my head, he runs a World Cup sweepstake, despite the unfair advantage of being outside of time. In my head, St Peter is playing head tennis with Mother Teresa as we speak.
Heaven will be a disappointment if this isn't happening.
You have encountered Jesus in a life-changing way, and want to live your life for him. You may not get it right all the time, but pleasing God is the most important thing to you now. So what do you do when some of the people that mean the most to you - your friends - don't feel or live the same way? Maybe they would call themselves Christian but don't seem to be trying to please Jesus with their lifestyle; maybe they think being Christened was enough; maybe they are showing no interest in faith; maybe they're anti; maybe they're curious. What's the right response?
Hi! You have arrived on what is my first For Real blog. I'm Andy and I absolutely love God! My other interests are music, sport and, strangely enough, Ebay. I love other people's company and find being on my own a little boring! I absolutely love stories, especially funny ones, and appreciate bad jokes.
You will be glad to know though that this blog is not a showcase for my jokes, instead I'm going to be focusing on how to be mentored. Before you open another tab to search Wikipedia (the source of all knowledge!), to find out what a mentor is let me give you a helping hand: 'Mentor-ship refers to a personal developmental relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps a less experienced or less knowledgeable person'.
Hello. You did it! You clicked the link, and I've got a feeling that this could be the start of something special. I'm Mark and thanks to the anonymity of the world wide web, I may never know who you are...
Anyway, I'm Mark and I'm a musician – a guitarist to be precise.
